Patrick Kay
 
Patrick Kay is a general and interventional cardiologist who works at Middlemore and Auckland City Hospitals. Patrick works in private at Silverdale and Albany on the North Shore and in Botany, Te Atatu and Pukekohe. He is involved in teaching and research through Auckland University and holds a PhD in interventional cardiology from Erasmus University, The Netherlands. His areas of interest include the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, CVD risk factor profiling, preventative cardiology and hypertension and its treatment with renal artery denervation.

The session will critically assess the management of hypertension. We will look at diagnosis with close reference to studies assessing clinic blood pressure against ambulatory BP monitoring. Finally attendees will be given insight into the best use of drugs and when to use them. We will discuss how renal denervation will be integrated into practice.
