NZRC CORE Skills �NO Exam� (Previously NZRC CORE Level 5 Non-Assessed Course) (4 hours and NO written exam) - $230
This course has been endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and has been approved for 8 CME credits for maintenance of Professional Standards MOPS purposes.

This course requires pre-reading of the NZRC Resuscitation � �A Guide for Advanced Rescuers� manual in order to successfully complete the NZRC written test. The recommended pre-reading time is 3 weeks prior. We recommend you order the manual at the time of registration with Conference Matters (may be obtained online through Conference Matters or directly online through the NZRC website)

� Basic Life Support
� Airway management bag masking, guedel and LMA insertion
� Assessment of safe use of the AED / Defibrillator
� Cardiac Rhythm Recognition
� Resuscitation drugs
� Adult /Child collapse Algorithms
� Anaphylaxis Algorithms
� Resuscitation Scenario�s
� Skills assessment (NO written assessment)

This course also meets the compulsory resuscitation skills RNZCGP MOPS and AVE requirements for GPs to obtain a certificate of competency in resuscitation skills to the New Zealand Resuscitation Council standards.

Prerequisites are:

Attendees need to be registered nurses, medical practitioners or people who have the skills contained in the course as part of their scope of practice.

It is expected that students will already have the skills and knowledge required for Resuscitation Levels 1�4.

This course has been endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and has been approved for 8 CME credits for maintenance of Professional Standards MOPS purposes.

Four hours of self-directed learning and research on the above topics is required prior to the course.

Details of the course content is as follows:

Level 5 resuscitation training for health professionals
� Health professional resuscitation training to the New Zealand Resuscitation Council�s Level 5
� Can be used as a Level 5 refresher course

Advanced resuscitation skills for health professionals
Resuscitation Level 5 is designed for health professionals who may need to manage and supervise resuscitation scenarios where little immediate back up is available from higher level people.

This course meets the Level 5 requirements of the New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC). It can also be used as a refresher/revalidation for Level 5 Resuscitation. 

What you�ll gain
The course is practical and provides �hands-on� experience with specific equipment and techniques. On completion you will:
� be a certificated Level 5 resuscitator.
� know how to use advanced resuscitation equipment and techniques.
